This is because most golfers usually take their gratifications in the scores that they make.

Therefore, for people who want to increase their playing skill, here is a list of some tips that they can use to improve their gaming performance.

1. Pump up before the game starts

Every golfer must first learn the things they have to do before they play the game. The problem with most players is that they tend to think that since golf is not a very strenuous sport like basketball, they dont have to do some warm up exercises.

This should not be the case because golfers need to warm up and stretch those muscles before they start making double bogeys.

2. Swinging is a perfect exercise

In golf, the most pressured and the most exerted part of the body are the hands. Hence, it is important to exercise them before playing the game.

Swinging can effectively pull out any stressed or rigid muscle in the hand. Its best to keep on practicing swinging. Experts say that almost 50% of a golfers ability is based on swinging.

3. Consider the size of the club

In order to play the best golf game, it is important for a player to choose the right golf club that he or she will use. The first to consider when choosing a golf club is its length. The length should be proportionate and suitable to the player so that he or she will be comfortable when playing.

4. Familiarize the six parts of golf swings.

In order to play best in golf, it is important for a player to familiarize himself or herself on the six parts of the golf swing technique. The six parts of the swing are the proper alignment of the golf club; proper setup of the golfers posture and position; back swing; take-away; impact; and the follow-through.

5. Know the course

A good golfer should know his or her terrain. Hence, it is important for a golfer to note the so-called trouble areas. This is where some imminent problems are present like a sloping part of the fairway or hanging branch of a tree.

These are just some of the basic tips that one could use in playing golf. However, the most important thing a golfer should remember is to keep his or her body healthy before the competition. Its where they generate their power for that beautiful back swing.

Edwin Shackleford has been helping individuals improve thier golf game for years. Try his Free Online Training Today! www.improve-your-golf-game.com

Quick Golf Ideas

Controlling the Course
In order to play the course well, you need to control the ball, it's a vicious circle. Control the ball, control the club, the body must be doing the right thing, the mind must be at ease and then you can control the course. We get two types of golfers at our school. Those who hit there ball and follow it around the golf course and it leads them on a very merry chase, and those who actually pick a target and direct, not steer, their golf ball toward the target. Basically, golfers swing different, but they all play the same. It's just a different target that they're playing to, a very long hitter is picking one out at 300 yards, a shorter hitter maybe picking one at 125 yards, but everybody needs to pick targets and break the course up into manageable bits of real estate. Very much like you'd cut your steak at night, you cut it in size bits that you're comfortable chewing and that's the way you have to chew up the golf course. So learn to control the golf ball, if you can control the ball, you must be controlling the club. If you're controlling the club, your body must be doing the right thing. If your body is doing the right thing then the minds probably in the right place and has been programmed correctly. Then, and only then, do you have any chance of controlling the golf course.
...by Jack Lumpkin

Prime Movers
Notice how my upper left arm and chest are connected. It's this connection that initiates the backswing and encourages the club to be moved by the pivot of the body and not the hands and arms moving independently. In addition to the left arm and chest, movement of the shoulders and back should also contribute to the finish of a powerfully coiled backswing. Don't ever begin your backswing by lifting your arms or rolling your wrists by themselves.
...Golf Tips magazine

The left shoulder sets up the backswing by rotating down and under the chin. This shoulder movement directs the clubhead travel to the inside of the target line. The shoulder turn determines the length of the backswing.
...US Open

Bagboy Golf Bags

Long Arms. Soft arms are fast arms, and you dont want them moving independently of the body. Instead, the arms must be thrown out and extended by a proper pivot.
Make life easier on the golf course with a great golf car.

Today's Golf News

Torrey Pines to have shortest par 3 in 8 years

Wed, 30 Apr 2008 04:00:00 EDT
(AP) -- Torrey Pines will be listed at 7,643 yards, making it the longest course in major championship history. Any side-to-side or up and down head movement should be avoided. To get the right feel, hit some practice shots with feet together. During your weight shift, concentrate on keeping the weight On your right foot on the inside of your foot. Check your progress by taking practice swings with sun behind you and watching your shadow. Don't let the clubface get ahead of your hands at impact. To avoid hitting chips and pitches fat: Don't sole the club at address. Use an open, narrow stance. Keep arms connected to chest and rotate body rather than sliding hips laterally and jabbing at the ball with your hands. Focus eyes on front of ball, with weight on front foot and wrists ahead of ball at address and through impact. Here are a few tips that you can use to make your golf game better.

A good way to gauge distance on a sand shot is to think of hitting the ball twice as far. Let's say you have a sand shot of 25 feet. Hit it with the same power that you would use for a fairway shot of 50 feet. A word of warning; this system works well on medium to long sand shots. On the short touch shots you're better off practicing to get a feel for finesse. After all, you may well have a 6 foot long sand shot, but how many 12 foot long fairway shots do you ever have?

The sand actually allows for a margin of error. Just make sure you accelerate your golf club through the sand and good results will follow. If your impact is close to your ball, it will go longer in the air but will retain a lot of spin. Impact a little farther behind your ball and you make it travel less in the air but it now has the tendency for more run on landing. Just remember to focus on the sand, not on the itself ball, and let your club [and the sand] do the work.

Because every golfer wants to get up and down from greenside sand, there is always a great pressure to hit the ball close from a bunker. The fact is, however, that a top pro who gets up and down half the time is doing very well indeed. For this reason you should not concentrate on hitting sand shots to tap-in range [that is, to within three feet] as you would do for a long putt. Focus instead on hitting to within a target that's 12 to 15 feet in diameter. That gives you up to 7 1/2 feet to play with on each side of the hole can be much easier bull's-eye to deal with. You'll be more relaxed and will hit the ball even closer.

Knowing the basic techniques of bunker sand play will alleviate fears. Remaining calm and keeping some simple techniques in mind will turn your sand play in to childs play. Now head off to play golf.

Find a training aid to learn the correct golf grip today!

Thoughts On Golf

Keeping the clubface angle square to the target after impact breaks down the left wrist, restricting the left arm rotation. These faults set up a chain reaction creating other faults. The lack of arm rotation affects both clubface direction and angle, resulting in both loss of accuracy and distance. Finally, your swing is going at such a high speed that it's a physical impossibilty for you to even attempt to make any adjustments so commit yourself to doing the right things properly in your setup and takeaway because after that things are out of your control.
...LPGA tips

Golf Sounds Like a Great Idea
Too many would be golfers, particularly youngsters - head off to the local municipal course, hire a basic set of clubs and start hitting off the tee with no idea of how to hold the club, never mind striking the ball correctly. Even worse, there are those who limit practice to trying their hand in the local park - this is a dangerous and in many cases forbidden activity. The existence of the shouted warning "fore" on a course to indicate a ball in flight that may be close to other golfers is not simply for effect. A golf ball struck with force is a potentially lethal projectile and should never be used without regard for either safety or surroundings.
...mastering golf UK

Golf Club Staff Bags

There is a greater variety of putters on the market than any other piece of golf equipment. So choosing the right one can be difficult. There's only one foolproof way to do it: Try as many different putters as you can get your hands on. It's all about feel. But there are some things to consider about different putter features that can help narrow the field.
Get greater distance on your drives with great Callaway golf balls.

Discount Golf Equipment

Tip when buying used golf clubs: On metal woods, alloy heads are more susceptible to the effects of play and aging than steel heads. This is because most alloy heads contain the softer aluminum. Also, when buying used, stick to better known brand names. Lesser known names aren't necessarily worse clubs when used, but the craftsmanship that goes into, for example, Titleist, should carry over to used clubs, as well.
Improve your golf swing with a great golf swing trainer!

More Golf News

A Fitting Achievement.

Tue, 27 Sep 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Gamez Captures Valero Texas Open Trusting Titleist from Tee-to-Green.

Rob Mottram - How to Sequence Exercises for Better Results

Mon, 03 Apr 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Here are a couple helpful hints about your exercise program design

by Rosie Jones

weighted golf training club
golf

Golf Drivers Information

Featured Golf Article

If you want a great golf swing then get this Simple Golf Swing eBook

Bunkers And Sand Traps - How To Play Them

By Lee MacRae

Sand and bunker shots are some of the most intimidating and yet most rewarding shots in golf. Here are some quick tips to help improve your own shots from the sand.

Here is a simple way of remembering how much to open a blade of your sand wedge. Taken an open stance, with your feet aiming to the left of the hole. Then simply open the clubface until it is aiming directly act of the hole. Now, swing outside-to-in across the ball, and your ball will pop out and bounce and roll slightly to the right, toward the hole.

When your ball is sitting up in sand on a rise that is caused by someone's footprints, don't be fooled into thinking this is an easy shot. Players tend to try to get the ball off the surface of the sand, or take too much sand in an effort not to hit it too far. Do the former and you may blade the ball. Do the latter and you may hit it fat. This is an instance where you want to hit not under the ball, but down and through it. Take your spot, about two inches behind the ball and slightly below it [because of the rise] and swing as you would for a normal chip shot. If you're still worried about getting it too far, move your weight back to your right foot. This will force you to swing more with your arms and will take some power out of the shot.

The delicate explosion shot [where you see a puff of sand and the ball flies to the hole and stops on a dime] is tough to hit consistently. Most attempts see the ball rolling more than expected. So why not anticipate the roll and play for it? The idea is to take the spin out of the shot by hitting even farther behind the ball than usual [three or four inches is recommended] and compensating for the removal of power by making a full swing. Your ball will explode out of the sand but will roll a good three or four yards.

The average golfer usually fears the shot from a sand bunker and is defeated before they even attempt one. With practice, keeping in mind the proper technique and a few tips and hints, sand play will be a lot easier than you imagined. And your golf game will be better for it.

To get a great golf training aid to improve your game go to golf training aids online!

Some Quick Golf Information

Clone Club Discount Equipment Golf

Control Your Distance. While they're not the most fun to practice they do make up the majority of our game. Probably the best golf tips on chipping I have received are the ones that taught me to use higher lofted clubs in and around the green. What do I mean by that? Well when we watch the pros play on TV we see them make beautiful chip shots that soar upwards then stick when they hit the green. This has taken them years of practice to achieve, so it's not likely we're able to duplicate it. How ever, if you want consistency around the green consider using an 8 iron for further away chip shots and aim to land your ball 15-20 feet before your target. This is known as a bump and run where the ball spends about 60% of its time in the air and the rest rolling. It's a much easier shot to control, and will give you more confidence in your short game.
Get greater distance on your drives with great Titleist golf balls from our store.

Forged Golf Irons

CARTS- You can walk or you can ride. When you ride you have no control as to what kind of cart you get, gas-powered or electric. Just be sure you follow the 90 degree rulethat means to ride the cart on the cart path, and when you are 90 degrees to your ball, you turn the cart and ride over the fairway to your ball. On some courses you can only ride the cart path throughout the golf course, so ask the golf shop what the policy is. As you get close to the green, there usually will be arrows showing that the cart must not get any closer and for you to ride the cart back to the cart path. Carts are not to be ridden close to the green unless you have a special flag on your cart which means that you have shown you have some disability which allows you to ride the cart as close to the green as possible.
Practice your golf game in your own backyard with a great <a href="golf equipment">golf cage.

The off-season is also a good time to renew your equipment, in particular your clubs. If you start practicing with your new clubs during winter you have more time to get used to them, rather than having to struggle in spring when the 'serious' golf season starts again. Another reason to stock up during winter is that prices are usually at their lowest, with many merchants offering off-season and (post-)holiday specials.
...PGA Tour

Today's Golf News

Major Victory for Ogilvy, Titleist

Mon, 19 Jun 2006 00:00:00 GMT

Scott beats Moore in playoff at Nelson

Mon, 28 Apr 2008 04:20:00 EDT
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- When Adam Scott was home in Australia after the Masters, he knew he needed to be somewhere else.

Balance Basics

Mon, 15 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Learn the basics of balance and how this relates to improving your game.

A Great Golf training Aids Resource.

Our Featured Golf Writer

Instantly slash your golf score by creating perfect impact!

Some Golf Tips For You

by Lee MacRae

Here are some great tips to help improve your game from tee-off to the final hole.

Throughout the entire swing you should let your body swing your arms, much like swinging a heavy ball at the end of a chain. If you keep your elbows together and in front of your center (the upper part of your body) in the hitting area centrifugal force will create club head speed. The faster you can move the body in the forward swing without sacrificing a smooth rhythmic tempo the more club head speed you will develop. The left arm will rotate and the right arm will extend and cross over the left, just as a home run hitter's arms react. It is imperative that you keep the body moving to the finish. Otherwise the arms and hands will deliver prematurely.

You'll generate a lot of power if you forget about building up the muscles in your body and concentrate instead on whipping the hips. Look at golfing legend Gary player. He's only 5'7" tall, but he hits the ball a long way by moving his hips as fast as possible for right to left in the downswing. But not so fast that he loses control of the swing. The idea is to have the hips moving to the left, where they'll open naturally. If you keep your head behind the ball through impact, you'll form a sort of human catapult that will send your ball soaring.

Don't try and hit the ball hard. Simply hitting the ball as hard as you can results in a tense and inefficient physical swing. You can end up achieving the opposite of what you wanted and land the ball way short. A relaxed swing and a relaxed attitude will achieve more accuracy and generally more distance.

Remember that your golf eqiupment is not the whole story. Techinique plays a large part in how long and straight you drive the ball. Diligently practice using tips like these and your will see a great deal of improvement in your teee shots.

Find a great golf training aid and improve your game!

Some Quick Golf Information

You swing the club by feel, and you learn feel through good motion. Keeping your eye on your shadow will teach you the feel of your upper body staying in position - neither moving to the right or left- nor up or down.
...PGA

Concentration
Sometimes it's hard to stop your mind playing tricks during a round of golf. You think, "If I make this shot I've only got an easy putt to make a birdie". That's when things go wrong. You need to stay in the present. I do this by focusing on something like a red shirt in the crowd or a really beautiful tree. That might sound funny but it makes you think what is happening right now. Not what went before or what is going to happen.
...BBC golf

Golf Wedges

Are price and quality directly related in putters? In many cases, very much so. You can spend $400 on a putter, just as you can on a driver. And you'll probably be getting a heck of a putter. But you can also spend $15 and get a heck of a putter - if that's the one the feels right, builds confidence, and helps you get the ball into the hole. Don't think that you must spend lavishly on a putter.
Get greater distance on your drives with great Maxfli golf balls - Work and then Pay

By: Jeff Gustafson

"If you are interested in improving your game, I would highly recommend helping your head as much as you are helping your swing..."

The above was a quote from Rob Mangini, former assistant men's golf coach at Arizona State University in the book "The Mental Keys to Improving Your Golf". In other words, understand and know what works then concentrate on doing the work.

Unfortunately, when it comes to golf usually us regular, recreational golfers don't think beyond "gripping it and ripping it". We don't really want to put in the time. We just want to hit that sucker. Forget the golf training aid.

And yet in all my years of golfing, I haven't met a golfer yet that doesn't want to improve his or her golf game.

Getting better is not going to just happen, especially if you want to be consistent. It requires giving some serious attention to the four fundamentals of golf - mechanical, strategic, physical and mental. Now isn't that interesting. How many of the (4) do you as a golfer have a handle on? I would bet that most average golfers don't even think of (3) of the (4) and, to be honest, their mechanics probably aren't necessarily "all that".

Professional golfers know its work and then pay and that is the very foundation of what Strategy Golf is all about - focusing on doing "the work" the ultimate golf training aid.

Any sport requires practice. But golf requires so much more. It is you and you alone against the golf course, the elements, and your even your own demons. It is you that has to make the shot or sink the putt.

You can't focus on winning; you can't focus on the other players or you open the door to the fear of losing or missing that putt and letting bad shots or mistakes get you angry and that usually leads to something other than the winner's circle.

Putting your attention on your Strategy and not on your competition or the consequences of missing a putt is of ultimate importance in competition. All things being equal, if you play to your game-plan (golf training aid) and focus on what you are doing, and perform at your optimum then the outcome will take care of itself.

Think about what you can do to keep your focus on the YOUR task so that you play your game. Write out a strategy (golf training aid)...stick to a routine...and stay with the game-plan by reviewing and refocusing on each tee.

It is a fact that written goals have a way of coming true. By thinking through your approach and actually taking the time to put it all down on paper seems to cement the plan for good. So write out that strategy - your game-plan of how you intend to play each hole.

Golfers ignore this step in their preparation for a couple of reasons: One, it takes some time and many of us would just as rather "grip it and rip it!". But secondly, too many of us are so used to "resolutions" not coming true that we are not convinced writing anything down is going to work. There is another element to all of this: you have to truly want what you desire to come true. Most New Years resolutions are desires of the moment - weight you want to get off because you feel frumpy after the holiday meals; starting the exercise program that will give you that hard body but you really don't want to put in the time and effort and miss that piece of pie. Unless the desire is in your gut it isn't going to happen.

They key to success here is first wanting it bad enough, then putting in the time to be prepared, and finally writing out a game-plan to keep focused and on task (the perfect golf training aid). The question you have to ask yourself: "Do I want it bad enough to do the work to see the result?"

Article by Jeff Gustafson - Pocket Pro www.the-sixth-man.com www.pocketproonline.com

Golf Snippets

Cheap Golf Irons

More and more manufacturers are offering hybrids in women's golf club sets. These clubs take the place of the longer irons (3, 4, 5 irons). They are easier to hit the ball and allow for more mis-hits so that your ball gets airborne with more accuracy.
Carry your golf clubs with distinction with a new Nike golf stand bag!

Most golfers set their driver on the ground at address. This results in a high percentage of driver shots being hit on the heel-side of the face, especially when we tee the ball higher. Test yourself this way: The next time you are at the range and set up to hit your driver, once in the address position stretch your arms out and move the club up to the ball's height. Notice where the ball is going to contact the face of your driver? On the heel side or possibly the hosel of your driver.
...PGA Tour

Cheap Golf Bags

There are a number of holes that must be played in a given order and a round of golf usually consists of eighteen holes that have to be played in an order as determined by the layout of the course. A nine-hole course would mean playing two successive nine-hole rounds. By playing the ball from a teeing box the player needs to put the ball into a hole in the green that is an area of finely cut grass. Stroking the ball into the hole is known as putting with the ball being hit along the ground. The idea is to rest the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible in order to win the hole and there are many hazards along the way to contend with such as bunkers and water hazards.
Get greater distance on your drives with great golf balls from our online store.

Mental Game Tip
Since I'm not a psychologist I will not try to get deeply into how the mind works during a game of golf -- who knows anyway? Here are a few tips that you can use to make your golf game better.

One of the most awkward bunker shots calls for you to stand outside the bunker when your ball is inside it. This usually results in unpleasant bending and a loss of balance. The key here is not to bend the back and stretch out to the ball. Concentrat instead on bending the knees as much as possible. Think of weightlifters. You never see them bending over to pick up their weights. They bend their knees, grab the weights, then simply stand up. Their legs are doing the lifting. Your legs, too, should do the bending on these tough bunker shots.

If the sand is wet or firm, don't automatically reach for your sand wedge. A better choice in this case would be a pitching wedge. The pitching wedge has less bounce [the curve on the bottom of the head] and is not as sharp on the edges. These feature will prevent the club from digging nto the sand too much and ruining the shot. Just keep the face square [not open as that adds to the bounce] and swing a little shorter than you normally would. Success will follow.

Keep in mind that the average sand wedge is designed to hit a ball 40 feet at most. If you have a sand shot that is farther than that, then you will be better off using a pitching wedge to get on the green. A pitching wedge is designed differently, it doesn't have the curve [the bounce] on the bottom of the head. This allows the ball to travel the 10 or 20 extra feet you need on the shot. Just remember to use the right tool for the particular job at hand.

And no matter what the circumstances are, don't allow tension to ruin your techinque. Tension will ruin even the best of golf swings. Keep your body and your mind loose and positive. Always imagine yourself handling the shot with success. What the mind sees, the body will do. You golf game will improve immensly when you add these tips.

Improve your swing with a great golf swing trainer today!

Quick Golf Ideas

Used Golf Irons

Let's say your home course has bunkers with soft, fluffy sand. You don't want your club digging down into that loose sand, so you need a sand wedge with a higher bounce angle to lessen the digging. Conversely, bunkers with heavy, compacted sand do require more digging to pull off a good sand shot, so you need less bounce to allow the leading edge of the club to do that digging.
Carry your golf clubs with distinction with a new Mizuno golf stand bag!

To achieve the goal of hitting the ball at the bottom of the swing arc. Your drives should be hit slightly on the upswing, iron shots are struck slightly on the downswing. Fairway woods are hit at the bottom of the swing arc.
...PGA of America

I guess there is nothing that will get your mind off everything like golf. I have never been depressed enough to take up the game, but they say you get so sore at yourself you forget to hate your enemies -- Will Rogers
...US Golf Association

Adams Lady Insight Belle Fairway Wood

Get Behind. Theres no leverage in the golf swing if youre ahead of the ball. Good players move away from the target slightly in the backswing and dont pass the ball until after impact.
Keep yourself in the cooling shade with a great golf umbrella.

Keep Your Hands Low
Limiting the height of the followthrough will effectively reduce the height of your shots. The lower the hands, the lower the ballflight. Moving the ball back in your stance or choosing a stronger club and trying to swing easy are other ways to accomplish the same thing, but they're less reliable and more difficult to execute. Instead, keep your hands low in the finish (compare the two photos at right), and the trajectory of your shots will be lower.
...Golf Tips magazine

Today's Golf News

Montgomerie pins Masters snub on not being Chinese

Tue, 01 Apr 2008 00:00:01 +0100
<p>Over the years Colin Montgomerie has made the occasional statement that has send eyebrows sky-bound, but yesterday's claim that he would be teeing it up at next week's Masters if he were only Chinese was hard to refute.</p>

Victory Was in the Bag

Mon, 21 May 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Titleist Ambassadors Zach Johnson and Ryuji Imada Finish 1-2 in AT&T Classic Playoff

Padraig Harrington Wins Irish Open with New Pro V1x

Unmatched

Tue, 28 Feb 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Geoff Ogilvy Leads Titleist Players to 1-2-3 Sweep at WGC-Accenture World Match Play

Vaughn Taylor Repeats Winning Feat in Record-Setting Fashion at Reno-Tahoe Open

Mon, 22 Aug 2005 00:00:00 GMT

New Episode of Golf Fitness Academy Presented by Titleist Focuses on Balance

Mon, 15 Aug 2005 00:00:00 GMT

golf irons

The Best Golf Putting Aids Updates

Our Featured Golf Article

This is the secret you've been searching for...the
Golf Swing Secret...get it today!

Important Golf Tips for Beginners

By: Dean R Iggo

Starting in the game of golf can be confusing with all of the equipment available, people offering you free tips, and the feeling that you have to take everything so seriously. There are three golf tips for beginners that I was given by my instructor when I started, and that has really been a big help to me.

1. Don't Break the Bank With Your First Set of Clubs

As a beginner, you are not going to get all of the benefits that come from a top of the line set of golf clubs. As a beginner, you are not going to have the consistent contact or club head speed needed. Instead, think about buying a cheaper set, or better yet, get yourself a used set. You may also be able to use a free set from one of your more experienced friends until you figure out which clubs would be best for you.

2. Be Aware of Who is Giving You Instruction

Your friends, relatives, and sometimes people who don't even know you will think they have the golf tips for beginners that will fix all of your problems. Granted, if you have friends who are pretty good golfers, it may help to listen to them when you are first starting. However, to really understand the game, as a beginner, get your instruction from a professional. Golf pros are experienced in fixing swing problems and explaining things to you in terms of how they affect ball flight. Lessons are available at most any golf course, and even just a couple will really help set a good foundation for your game.

3. Enjoy Yourself

It may sound simple, but one of the best golf tips for beginners is to just have fun with the game. Keep in mind that you are probably not going to be getting your PGA card. Being competitive is fine, and of course you are going to want to continue to improve, but golf is a leisure game. Take your time out there and have fun with your friends.

These three golf tips for beginners can make all of the difference in the world. If you just get the right clubs to start, take instruction from those who know the game, and have fun, then golf will be a great way for you to spend your leisure time.

Article Source: http://www.golfarticles.net

Dean R. Iggo is a golf enthusiast with a single figure handicap. He is also the webmaster of www.improve-your-golf-swing.com a website providing unbiased golf swing tips, articles and training resources.

Golf Snippets

Travel Golf Bags

Golf Tips Chipping: golf short game tips are the ones that can actually make the biggest difference in your overall score.

Driving Irons Golf

The lower body should serve to support the movement of the upper body by leading the backswing. Flexed and relaxed, the legs are able to be moved by the rotation of the upper body, in no way inhibiting the turn. While the legs dont initiate the backswing, they contribute to the wind up of the body against the ground. A good thought is to imagine the legs as braces that connect you to the ground.
Improve your game with a great golf video from our online store!

Wedges

Every golf instructor's best advertising is past students. Here are some quick tips to help improve your own shots from the sand.

Here's another piece of visual imagery to help you cut your ball out of sand: imagine that a thick piece of cord is dangling vertically, just behind your ball.Nnow, open your stance to help you swing from the outside in, then use the leading edge of your club to slice the cord were it touches the sand. Soon you'll find yourself opening the blade properly, cutting through the ball the way the pros do.

In general, a sand shot should be hit with a sand wedge, with both the stance and the clubface opened wide. The idea is to hit the sand and let it carry the ball out of the bunker. You should aim to make contact with the sand about two inches behind the ball and hit under and through. An important point here; with few exceptions, you should make a full fall through.

The sand shot hit from a downhill lie is one of the toughest of all. Here's how to hit it; the key is ball position. As with other downhill shots, you should play the ball back in your stance, in this case roughly opposite your right foot. Next, swing the club up abruptly, breaking your wrists. Keeping your legs and torso steady, hit into the sand 2 inches behind the ball. Follow through normally. There is not much margin for error on this shot, so once you've picked a spot where you want the club to make contact with the sand, concentrate on hitting that exact spot and followed through.

Once you have a feel for the basics of playing from sand, you can easily understand some of the finer points of bunker play, and you will find it easy to adapt your technique to different types of sand challenges and lies. Make your golf game more enjoyable with good sand play.

Improve your putting stroke with a super home golf putting green and watch your scores plummet!

Quick Golf Ideas

To achieve the goal of hitting the ball at the bottom of the swing arc. Your drives should be hit slightly on the upswing, iron shots are struck slightly on the downswing. Fairway woods are hit at the bottom of the swing arc.
...PGA of America

Practice grounds
Many facilities have practice grounds, which provide an ideal environment in which to get to grips with the basics. If there is a professional in residence, arranging some lessons will ensure that the new player begins developing good habits right from the off. This is a much better option than finding further up the learning curve that some of the less beneficial aspects of your technique are difficult to straighten out. Remember that some golfers find such bad habits can last a lifetime.
...mastering golf UK

Narrow Your Focus
Consistently making short putts is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. To help maintain concentration, find a blade of grass directly in front of the middle of the hole as you prepare to strike the putt. Don't look at the hole itself or the back of it, but simply try to roll the ball over the spot on the front of the hole. Using the front of the hole makes the target closer and makes your focus that much more specific.
...Golf Tips magazine

Come to the Golf Course with Strategy in the Bag
Every good golfer knows that golf is not all about mechanics. There is a strategy to playing the game, and the golfer who develops the best strategy has a much better chance of coming out on top. There are ways to prepare yourself before you get to the courseand ways to react to conditions within a roundthat will save you trouble and give you an advantage most golfers fail to seize.
...by T.J. Tomasi, Ph.D.
Hitting behind the ball or too high on the ball.
This is often caused by swaying during the swing. Be sure to make a complete follow-through.
...Tom's golf tips

To develop a simple, comfortable and effective grip. Your grip is the foundation of your golf swing. Make sure your grip is comfortable. It is important to develop a neutral grip that requires no compensations during the swing. The orthodox position with the V.s of both hands (formed by the forefinger and the thumb) pointing between the chin and right shoulder is a good place to start. Very few good players have grips with the V.s pointing very far from this position. If you want a little stronger grip move the left hand over to the right a little.
...The Golf Channel

More Golf News

The Test Scores Are In: Titleist Is Once Again the #1 Ball at the Men's and Women's NCAA Championships.

Tue, 07 Jun 2005 00:00:00 GMT

Titleist Tour Report - Honda Classic

Thu, 09 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Watch this week's Titleist Tour Report direct from the Honda Classic featuring Davis Love III.

Azinger slams 'unpopular' Ryder rival Faldo

Mon, 07 Apr 2008 00:00:01 +0100
<p>The American Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger has laid into his European counterpart Nick Faldo, claiming that many players want "nothing to do with him". </p>

golf irons

The Best Hybrid Golf Club Updates

Our Featured Golf Article

If you want a great golf swing then get this Simple Golf Swing eBook

Which Golf Clubs Are For You?

By: Lee MacRae

With a larger variety of golf clubs coming onto the scene every week, it can become more and more difficult to determine just exactly what you should be looking for when buying new clubs.

Follow along as we discuss each type and what may be best for you.

How tall are you? Standard clubs are made for anyone between 5 to 6 feet tall and should work out fine. That principle holds for both sexes. Everyone else will want to consider having clubs made to fit.

Cast or Forged Golf Club?

Standard cast iron golf clubs are the normal way to go.

What makes cast iron the right choice for most? Because of the larger "sweet spot" you tend to find on the cast iron clubs. That refers to the area right in the middle of the club face. The larger the "sweet spot" on a club face, the more area you have to strike the ball well. It makes it a little easier to hit the "bulls eye" every time on your shots. This makes cast iron clubs ideal for anyone who wants a more consistant shot., especially beginners. Until their swing plane is more developed, they will have an easier time striking the ball on a consistant basis with the cast iron club. That is why clubs like "Big Bertha" came on the market. The large oversized head obviously gives a much larger sweet spot than a normal driver. Average golfers get longer and straighter drives on a more consistant basis.

With forged iron clubs you have the exact opposite. A smaller sweet spot that makes your drives that much harder to hit well.

So why even make golf clubs out of forged iron, you ask?

Well, because they are made of a softer steel, they offer a better "feel" on each and every shot. The more experienced golfers can use this feel to great advantage, shaping their shots, even curving them intentionally when the circumstances require it. So, in effect, they trade off the larger sweet spot for the shot shaping feel of a forged iron club.

The shaft of the club is the next item to look at. What will it be made of? A composite or steel?

The important touchstone here is golf club speed. An ordinary golf player will have a club velocity of 80-94 mph. Slower speeds normally means looking at a shaft made from composite material. With a slower swing speed comes less distance on your drives. Less distance means more shots needed to reach the putting green. Not a good thing if you want to lower your score. Composite shafts will allow you to get that much needed distance on your shots. And even within the composite shaft class, you will find variations in flex and materials that will affect your game.

By contrast, those with good distances on their shots, will fare much better by using a steel shaft that will give them some touch and control on their shots.

Determining your own swing speed is not difficult. If you don't have a local pro shop with the right equipment, you can find small microwave Doppler radar devices that are run by AAA batterieson the market. You simply set it near your tee and swing away.

With only these few starting tips, it is typically best if you rent a few different sets of clubs as you play and take note of how each club serves or handicaps your game. You are looking to ascertain your own strengths as well as weaknesses. Check out the assorted types and varieties of golf clubs you may find in a rental shop, for example, and discover what works best for you.

These simple golf driving tips have proved effective in helping many golfers around the world improve their drives off the tee. Simply apply what you have read here to your own circumstances. Here's to your own improvement!

Improve your golf putting stroke with a golf putting aid now!

Quick Golf Ideas

"The main idea in golf as in life, I suppose is to learn to accept what cannot be altered and to keep on doing one's own reasoned and resolute best whether the prospect be bleak or rosy." Bobby Jones
...US Golf Association

When you want to get some extra distance out of your drives, its natural to think that your right or dominant hand (for right-handed golfers) should supply the power. In reality, however, maximum power is a result of a left-hand lead.
...The Golf Channel

Concentration
Sometimes it's hard to stop your mind playing tricks during a round of golf. You think, "If I make this shot I've only got an easy putt to make a birdie". That's when things go wrong. You need to stay in the present. I do this by focusing on something like a red shirt in the crowd or a really beautiful tree. That might sound funny but it makes you think what is happening right now. Not what went before or what is going to happen.
...BBC golf

More Golf News

Build a Stronger Base with “Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist”

Mon, 24 Apr 2006 00:00:00 GMT

Anniversary inspires revitalised Lyle to turn back clock

Fri, 11 Apr 2008 00:00:01 +0100
<p>It was 20 years ago yesterday that Augusta belonged to Sandy Lyle, the day the Scot produced one of the most dramatic shots in the tournament's history en route to claiming his Green Jacket. Yesterday, as if to mark the occasion, some of that magic returned to the 50-year-old as once again the name Lyle lit up the leaderboard. At least for a while.</p>

Titleist Expands Line of Vokey Spin Milled Wedges With Introduction of New 54 Degree Options.

Fri, 12 Aug 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Full line of Vokey wedges offers increased spin, versatility for golfers of all levels

logo golf balls | hybrid golf clubs

The Best Information on Golf Gift

Golf Article Of The Month

This is the secret you've been searching for. The
Golf Swing Secret...get it today!

Some Golf Tips

by Lee MacRae

The following tips have been gleaned from various sources over the years. We hope you enjoy them.

A common cause of tension lies in the grip. An improper grip, or one that is too tight, creates tension that continues up the arms, through the shoulders, down the body and to the legs is sure to wreck your swing. Tension is the greatest robber of motion. The result is a hitting action rather than a swinging motion. A correct grip can relieve the pressure; however, it's still possible to have a correct grip and hold on too tightly (tension).

There is always a tendency to uncock the wrists early on the downswing in an effort to unleash a little more energy into the hit. But this action causes the wrists to break, and you're likely either to top your ball, blade it, or snap hook it. You can avoid this by deliberately pulling the club down into the back of your ball with your left hand. Don't worry about smothering the ball. As your weight shifts to your left side and the body opens up, you will find that the club uncocks naturally.

Remember that your golf eqiupment is not the whole story. Techinique plays a large part in how long and straight you drive the ball. Diligently practice using tips like these and your will see a great deal of improvement in your teee shots.

Improve your game with a great golf putter bought online!

Thoughts On Golf

Proper Sequence Is Key
There are many elements of impact that must come together to produce consistency, but the key lies in the sequence. From the top of the backswing, the legs and hips must initiate the downswing by moving toward the target, past their original position at address. This creates the proper tilt in the shoulders that allows the right arm to remain flexed at impact, while the left wrist becomes flat. Basically, a proper impact position is the result of a proper sequence of movements.
...Golf Tips magazine

The driver is now a specialty club, much like a putter. Our set-up, ball position everything is different from any other club in the bag. You shouldn't be hitting the ball at the bottom or apex of the golf swing like a fairway wood. The ball should be struck past this point, on the upswing. This will lead to a higher launch angle and lower spin rate which is how we are going to hit the ball farther than we ever have before.
...PGA Tour

Neutral = Straight
There are two key alignments to strive for at the top of the swing that will make hitting fairways much easier. The most important of the two is the clubface position, which should be square (the leading edge basically is parallel to the left arm). Learning this position will remove the need to compensate on the downswing with the hands. Positioning the club parallel to the target line is also extremely important.
...Golf Tips magazine

A Portable GPS Unit
These impressive devices are reliable and easy to use. Golf gifts are no exception. Being a golfer when you think of gifting something to anyone the first thing which will come to your mind will surely be the golf gift. Usually golf gifts are given to potential young golfers to encourage them to play more and more golf.

You have to choose perfect golf gifts for these young beginners considering their style. You have plenty of golf articles and accessories to choose from. To name some of golf gifts they are golf clubs, golf irons, golf bags, golf knickers, classic ball case etc. IN the succeeding paragraphs we will elaborate on importance of each golf gift.

In my opinion golf books are the best golf gifts for beginners. A beginner learns lot of things about game and adds to his/her knowledge of the game by reading golf books

Next come golf lessons. These lessons help potential beginners to decide whether he/she really wants to take the game or he/she likes the golf or not. Golf lessons, golf books and CDs/DVDs are excellent golf gifts for beginners.

Many beginners start playing golf with hired or borrowed golf clubs. Usually, golf clubs are considered as matter of personal choice. However, one may not be willing to purchase expensive golf clubs at the beginning. For such people first set of golf club is considered as best gift amongst other golf gifts. Remember to present these golf clubs in a golf bag.

There are number of golf accessories available in markets which as categorized as golf gifts. Golf gloves, ball markers and tees, though some what expensive, are nice golf gifts. Depending to you affordability and intimacy to the person you are going to present golf gifts you may like to present a full set of golf starter kit to a potential beginner.

Golf balls are also the popular articles for presenting as golf gifts. Beginners are not concerned about the type, compression and construction of these golf balls. You can choose golf balls personalizing with nickname, name or customs logo of the beginner. Only disadvantage of gifting such golf balls is that if the ball is lost the person to whom you have gifted it may get upset.

Golf shoes are other option from the golf gifts. Golf shoes are basic requirement for playing golf. Choosing a right shoe that will be fitting and providing comfort to the person you are gifting is not an easy task. Remember you have alternate option of gift certificate. Instead of presenting golf shoes as golf gifts, present a gift certificate and allow him/her to purchase shoes of his/her choice.

Golf courses are considered to be one of the expensive ventures of sports due to their fees structure. To avoid such expensive venture, driving ranges are considered to be best alternative. Presenting a membership of driving range may be the best among golf gifts for a beginner.

Ball tokens, golf gift certificates and 10 bucket pass are the other golf gifts available. Golf gifts are considered to be a motivating factor for beginners.

Golf Grip kits are a common phenomenon amongst golfers. Golfers are always choosy about their golf grip kits. Golf grip kits consist of tape, instruction book and a CD or DVD containing photos about use of golf equipments. Usually, golf grip kits are provided with golf irons and golf grips. Golf grip kits provide you all information like specification, maintenance guide and instruction about the handling of the equipment. Golf grip kits are of utmost importance for the beginners are they get the required information of golf equipments through these golf grip kits.

Golf Gifts and Golf Grip Kits

Quick Golf Ideas

Two Backswing Flaws You Must Fix for a Spot-On Swing
Because golfers must stand to the side of the golf ball at address, it's easy to understand why many players improperly rotate both the body and golf club away from the ball during the takeaway. Often, this improper rotation assumes the form of an inside takeaway, where the hands and forearms roll clockwise and rotate the clubface open. As soon as the club is taken too far to the inside, it becomes trapped behind the bodyliterally.
...Golf Link

Get New Grips That Fit
New grips can soup up your clubs, and your game, overnight. But make sure you get ones that fitgrips that are too big encourage slicing.
...Golf Tips magazine

Take Off Like A Jumper
A correctly timed pivot will cause the left leg to straighten just after impact, like a ski jumper launching into the air. This maximizes distance.
...Golf Tips magazine

I guess there is nothing that will get your mind off everything like golf. This will give you immediate feedback in determining whether the clubface is preceding the hands at impact. The clubface is the only thing that will make contact with the ball, therefore the clubface should be aimed towards the target with the shoulders paralleling the target line. Do not take the stance first. The feet do not hit the ball, so line up the clubface first, and then take your stance.
...Golf Week

To develop the best possible grip for you. Even the top players have trouble deciding whether this calls for an explosion shot or a normal wedge shot. Fortunately, we average players don't have to make that decision. The 60 yard explosion just isn't in our bags. So we'll make do with the normal wedge shot. Stand squarely, with the ball in the middle of your stance. As with the long bunker shot, you should make contact with the ball first, to remain as steady as possible for as long as possible. As this requires you to swing with only your hands and arms, you'll want to take a club or two more than usual [but bear in mind that playing the ball farther back than normal will deloft the clubface slightly]. For anything up to 75 yards, the average players to use a pitching wedge hit with a three quarters swing.

If you find yourself in a sand bunker position where the ball is above your feet remember: do not simply lean back or attempt your swing on a flatter plane. You need to stand as you would for a normal lie. But now you choke down to the bottom of your grip to counter the change in elevation. With the clubface open , take the club back and outside your target line, now swing through along the line of your open stance. If you let your right hand pass over the left, the slope will send the ball left, so keep your hands quiet as the club cuts through the sand.

And no matter what you do, even for sand play, always imagine the shot before you take it. And imagine the shot being succesfull! Not much sense in defeating yourself before you even start. Imagine yourself being successful throughout your golf game and watch your game flourish.

Improve your swing with a great golf swing trainer today!

Golf Snippets

Short Game Tip
The chip and run should be the workhorse of your short game. It is the most reliable shot around the green when you can't putt. I would estimate that at least 95% of my short game shots (from within 20 yards of the edge of the green) are played with a chip and run technique, and the other 5% is made up of putts from off the green, pitches, and bunker shots. Getting the ball on the ground and rolling as soon as possible greatly increases the chances of the ball's behavior being predictable. That is not to say that a chip and run is always very low to the ground; just as low as possible. A chip and run style shot can be played with the most lofted wedge in your bag, in which case some people might refer to the shot as a "pitch and run." In many cases where the average golfer tries to pitch the ball up in the air, the "risk vs. reward" and the uncontrollable nature of a pitch (especially from a marginal lie) make it a poor choice.
Short Game General Rules
--Putt whenever feasible (i.e., IF the ball will roll rather than bounce)
--Chip and run when you can't putt
--Pitch only when you have no choice
...PGA professional golf

A Portable GPS Unit
These impressive devices are reliable and easy to use. Some even allow you to measure your drives.
...Golf Tips magazine

To start with a proven ball position. Moving a golf ball even two inches forward or back in your stance can make a great deal of difference in shot consistency. Start with the ball a couple of inches inside the left heel. After you master this consistent ball position, you can experiment with other ball positions. However, a ball too far to the front of your stance will increase the chances of a slice by encouraging an outside-to-inside swing. A ball too far back in the stance will make it difficult to get the clubface closed by impact and may cause a push or a push slice.
...Golf Help

Mathematically a longer arc should create more clubhead speed. Not so,unless done correctly. Overswinging will definitely throw the clubhead in a very poor planeswing. How far should you take the club back? Only as far as you can turn your shoulders-with balance. If the club goes back farther than the shoulders, the left wrist will break down. This will not only open or close the clubface but will take the pulling action away from the legs, thus allowing the shoulders or hands,or both to take over and dominate the forward swing. This type of motion puts the club in an outside-in plane (Over the top).
...LPGA tips

Golf Related News

Over 100 Wins and Still Counting...

Mon, 07 Aug 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Steinhauer Wins Women's British Open, Leads Titleist to Four-Win Week.

The Ultimate Holiday Gift

Thu, 17 Nov 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Titleist offers free personalization on golf balls now through December 10.

New Season of Golf Fitness Academy Presented by Titleist Premieres on The Golf Channel

Tue, 04 Apr 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Third Season Begins April 10 with the first of 10 new episodes for 2006

Local Favorite. Take a trip out to the range and see what it does for your score the next time out

And no matter what you do, even for sand play, always imagine the shot before you take it. And imagine the shot being succesfull! Not much sense in defeating yourself before you even start. Imagine yourself being successful throughout your golf game and watch your game flourish.

Improve your putting stroke with a super home golf putting green and watch your scores plummet!

Some Golf Ideas

Buy Some Long Tees
Your new driver will be easier to hit.
...Golf Tips magazine

The overall contour of the green can be assessed from 50-100 yards out. The idea is to hit the sand and let it carry the ball out of the bunker. You should aim to make contact with the sand about two inches behind the ball and hit under and through. An important point here; with few exceptions, you should make a full fall through.

One way to prevent dipping and hitting your ball heavy when playing a long bunker shot is to concentrate on keeping the knees "on the same level" throughout the swing. Note that we say he "on the same level" and not just "level". The idea is to stop you from lifting up or bending down. If you lift up, either you hit the ball thin or you run the risk of hitting it fat if you bend down again. If you bend down first, you'll almost definitely hit the ball fat.

Once you have a feel for the basics of playing from sand, you can easily understand some of the finer points of bunker play, and you will find it easy to adapt your technique to different types of sand challenges and lies. Make your golf game more enjoyable with good sand play.

Find a great golf club and improve your game!

Let's Talk About Golf

The clubhead should be descending at impact with the exception of the Driver and the Putter. What is meant by descending angle of approach?
...Learn About Golf

Don't grip the club too tightly. A tight grip inhibits a smooth swing and follow-though. Also, keep the grips on your clubs in good condition. Worn grips force you to hold the club too tightly. Replace the grips on your clubs as they get worn and smooth. When first learning the grip, keep a club around the house and practice gripping and regripping the club a few minutes each day. Remember to keep fingers secure and arms relaxed.
...PGA of America

Now, putting pads and various practice aids have been around for a very long time. You can choose from kits ranging from a simple pad and a cup or those offering such tools as ball return. Regardless of your selection, you can get that extra advantage of some practice time right in your living room or office.
...The Golf Channel

Speed Controls Distance
The seemingly obvious fact that the sand (not the club) moves the ball out of the bunker is often misunderstood. To control the distance your bunker shots travel, you have to be able to manage the speed of the sand, which isn't as difficult as you might imagine. The length of the swing is irrelevantit's the speed of the clubhead that really matters. Practice pitching sand out of a bunker until you can consistently control how far it goes, and only then add a golf ball to the equation.
...Golf Tips magazine

Putting
Set up with the ball near your front foot, the club face square to the target line and your eyes over the ball. Selecting the right irons is considered as the basic step towards improvement of game. These irons are available in different sizes and finishes. You can choose iron according to you style.

Primarily golf irons comes in two finishes namely metal finish and satin finish. You may find a rare golf iron with Fly Yellow finish. Pressure casting method is used for manufacturing these golf irons. The golf irons are made up of soft metals. Some manufacturers prefer to couple these soft metals with steel shafts which according to them provide excellent results. The propriety of forgiveness is considered as a quality of good golf iron. This property gives you an advantage to hit the golf club without change in direction or vibration. Let us elaborate on the different types of golf irons. * Gun Metal finish Golf Irons: These are considered to be the best golf irons. These gun metal finish golf irons posses the propriety of Ion plasma. This plasma finish enable the golf iron to gain finish level as less as .03 microns. These gun metal finish golf irons are usually hand crafted and give improved performance and great feelings while playing with it. * The latest and rarer version of yellow finish golf iron also posses all properties of other gun metal golf irons and is manufactured through pressure cast method. These mid-size golf irons consists of thin top line which is considered to be designed especially for professional golfers. Perimeter weighting is the primary quality of these golf irons. Getting this right comes from developing a smooth putting rhythm.
...BBC golf

When starting the downswing the shoulders should be passive, allowing the forward motion of the legs to pull the right shoulder down and forward, squaring the shoulders to the target line at impact. If the shoulders have moved into an open position (facing to the left of the target) prior to impact, the clubhead will travel outside-to-inside of the target line. This brings the clubhead over the ball promoting an over the top move.
...US Open

Kneework
The right knee should remain flexed, but it must rotate on the backswing to allow the hips to complete their turn. When done properly, this allows the weight to work into the right heel.
...Golf Tips magazine

Golf Related News

One Ball. Take a trip out to the range and see what it does for your score the next time out

When sand is wet or really firm, your sand wedge, with it's wide flange may very easily bounce off the surface and blade the ball. In such circumstances, it's better to use a pitching wedge or, when the flag is a long way off and you want your ball to run more, then use a seven, eight, or nine iron. Play your ball back in an open stance [much as you would do when playing a chip from the fairway] and position your hands just ahead of the ball. Unlike most sand shots, this one requires that you concentrate on hitting the ball first and not the sand. Work out your "landing area" before hitting the shot, and try to hit that area. If you miss it, don't worry. With all sand shots, it's far more important to get out the sand and to leave your ball close to the hole.

Hitting from a buried lie in the bunker [otherwise known as a "fried egg"] isn't as difficult as most golfers think. In fact, a shot that gets the ball out is closer to a normal golf shot than a conventional bunker shot is. That's because you play the shot with your clubface closed. Remember that the flange of a sand wedge is designed to prevent you from digging into the sand. But with a buried lie, digging in is exactly what you want to do. Close the face of your wedge, hit down into the sand and inch or two behind your ball. This is one of the few sand shots in which a follow-through isn't just important, it shouldn't exist at all! Some golfers have even been known to let the club go at impact. Note; this shot can also be played with a pitching wedge, which is almost guaranteed to dig in.

The average golfer usually fears the shot from a sand bunker and is defeated before they even attempt one. With practice, keeping in mind the proper technique and a few tips and hints, sand play will be a lot easier than you imagined. And your golf game will be better for it.

Save money and improve your game with a great clone golf club today!

Quick Golf Ideas

Putting
Ben Crenshaw is one of the world's finest. He holds the putter so lightly he sometimes drops it - but this is how he achieves the 'touch' behind a smooth rhythm.
...BBC golf

Be sure to check the location of the ball with clubs aligned on the ground. Step away to check that you are positioning the ball properly. Ask someone to double-check your positioning. It is hard, without alignment tape or clubs, to visually gauge the proper placement of the ball.
...PGA of America

Bottom Out
Notice how the logo on my shirt has moved closer to the target at impact than it was at address. The bottom of the swing will occur under the logo, making it a must to get it past the ball if you want to make ball-first contact.
...Golf Tips magazine

Try Some High-Tech Clothes
We know some of the new materials look a bit different, but they really do wick away moisture and keep you cooler than cotton.
...Golf Tips magazine

Yardage Has Been Lost
The downside of this shot-making decision is that yardage has been lost and, therefore, a possible birdie opportunity has been missed because there is still a fair amount of ground to be made up before the putting surface can be reached. The solution is to hit the ball so that it bends around the trees at the right moment and makes a greater distance down the fairway, resulting in an approach shot much nearer the hole. The skill called for here is to draw the ball, hitting it initially on a path to the right before it curves round to the left, avoiding the trees and leaving a more desirable lie.
...mastering golf UK

More Golf News

Tour Players Talk About the New 905R Driver

Thu, 02 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
See what Titleist staff players Davis Love III, Adam Scott and Zach Johnson are saying about the New Pro Titanium 905R driver.

Getting Better Every Day

Mon, 11 Jun 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Austin, Pettersen and Haas Lead Titleist to Five-Win Week

Fisher's late lapse lets in Levet to enjoy play-off glory

Mon, 31 Mar 2008 00:00:01 +0100
<p>Oliver Fisher lost a golden opportunity to become the European Tour's fifth youngest winner yesterday. Three ahead with six holes to play and still two in front on the 17th tee, the 19-year-old from Essex lost a play-off to the French Ryder Cup player Thomas Levet in a dramatic climax to the Andalucian Open here in Spain.</p>

golf training aid
golf accessories
golf equipment
golf travel case

The Best Golf Putting Aids Updates

Our Featured Golf Article

Destroy your golf slice in a matter of minutes using this revolutionary new system!

Some Golf Tips For You

by Lee MacRae

Here are some great tips to help improve the various aspects of your golf game.

Today's equipment and balls are not tailored necessarily for 7 - 8 degree drivers. That is a thing of the past. Getting the ball up in the air on a good trajectory is the first step to driving the ball longer. Many touring pros regurlaly use 9 and 10 degree drivers and drive the ball 300 plus yards. Plus, you will get much more consistency with a more lofted driver.

Your driver is the longest club in your bag. That means you have that much more distance between your hands and the ball at impact. Playing into the tip above about teeing the ball higher, you want to make sure that when you address the ball before your swing, that you are allowing your arms to stretch enough at impact. What I mean is that as you swing, and you continue through your downswing, your arms "stretch". It's like that "trick" you learn when you're younger where you stand by a wall and extend your arms and fingertips so that they just barely touch the wall. Put your arms down to rest and then reach up again and you should be able to easily touch the wall. The same concept applies. As you swing, your arms will naturally stretch a bit due to speed and gravity. So if you set up the ball in the middle of the clubface at rest, on your swing you may be apt to hit the ball on the heel of the club. Setting up the ball more towards the toe of the clubface should allow you to hit the ball more on the sweet-spot.

Stay flat. Your driving wood should stay along the ground for a least the first 20 to 25 percent of your swing. If your club is lifting up, you will pop the ball up and not get that long boring drive that you see the pros hit regularly.(when the ball takes off like a missile and slowly climbs to a beautiful height and tracks down the fairway).

Remember that your golf eqiupment is not the whole story. Techinique plays a large part in how long and straight you drive the ball. Diligently practice using tips like these and your will see a great deal of improvement in your teee shots.

Get a perfect golf swing with a great golf swing trainer today!

Golf Snippets

Lean Left
It's critical to start and keep your weight toward your front foot during the entire motion of a bunker shot. This encourages the club to sustain its speed through impact, which in turn creates the wave of sand necessary to carry the ball in the air.
...Golf Tips magazine

Pivot Pitching
Eliminate chunks and skulls by using your body and not your hands to move the club. Try keeping your arms glued to your body in the backswing and downswing.
...Golf Tips magazine

Handle Leads Hands
The body should continue to move the arms through impact and into the finish. Don't allow the clubhead to pass the handle of the club until well past impact.
...Golf Tips magazine

Keep the left wrist in a flat position in relation to the back of the left forearm and back of left hand. This will allow the wrist to hinge naturally, not break, which will allow the club to go back only as far as the shoulders turn. Practice this drill daily, and before you know it your muscles will get conditioned and trained to stretch further under control to create the arc you desire without overswinging. Going to parallel is not the answer to solid shot making, and power. Distance is the speed of the lower body pulling the speed of the motion of your left arm corresponding together to launch the ball towards the target.
...LPGA tips

Don't grip the club too tightly. A tight grip inhibits a smooth swing and follow-though. Also, keep the grips on your clubs in good condition. Worn grips force you to hold the club too tightly. Replace the grips on your clubs as they get worn and smooth. When first learning the grip, keep a club around the house and practice gripping and regripping the club a few minutes each day. Remember to keep fingers secure and arms relaxed.
...Golf Instruction Guide

More Golf News

Winning on All Counts

Mon, 22 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Herron Captures Colonial in all-Titleist Pro V1x Playoff.

Train with PGA TOUR Winner Charley Hoffman on “Golf Fitness Academy Presented by Titleist”

Mon, 23 Apr 2007 00:00:00 GMT
Learn strength and injury prevention exercises for the shoulders and ankles

Titleist Tour Report: FedEx St. Jude Classic

Fri, 26 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Check out the latest Titleist Tour Report from the FedEx St. Jude Classic, featuring Tim Herron discussing the time he spent this week with the children at the St. Jude Hospital and his thoughts on winning last week at the Bank of America Colonial.

Collegiate Players Make Titleist Overwhelming #1 Golf Ball

Thu, 08 Jun 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Titleist Also Tops Tee-to-Green Equipment Categories at Men's Championship.

More information on Golf Drivers

Golf Article Of The Month

You will find a lot of easy tips and techniques in this eBook to quickly transform your golf game and add 20 yards to your drive!

Golf Teaching Aids - A Quick Review

By: Terry Edwards

When it comes to golf teaching aids there is no shortage to pick from. This is one of the only golf training aids on the market that addresses the importance of your lower body in your golf swing.

The Impact Ball

This golf teaching tool will help you square the clubface during impact with the golf ball, as well as help you gain more distance on every shot. The Impact Ball fits between your arms as you swing the golf club. If you swing properly the Impact Ball will stay between your arms and not fall down. This is a very good golf training aid to own.

Medicus Dual Hinge Driver/Iron

The Medicus driver has been around for some time now, and with good reason. It works! When properly used, the Medicus dual hinge driver will help give you the perfect perfect golf swing. This golf training aid is one of simplicity. The result of this action is that arms will swing with your body instead of separating and causing offline, and off center golf swings. The Swing Jacket will help you feel what a proper swing should be like. Using this golf training aid will give you increased power and accuracy.

These are just a few of the many different golf teaching aids available on the market today. Isn't that something that us weekend golfers are always looking for?

Terry Edwards offers FREE tips and information on golf training aids and hot new products at www.golf.infofroma-z.com

Golf Fitness Tip
Of the three major components of fitness (strength, endurance and flexibility) flexibility is probably the most important for having a powerful and effective golf swing. A good way to develop flexibility is Yoga. Take a class or even get a book. It will make a big difference in your game, especially in the long term. It will also help you with your overall fitness and general health.
...PGA professional golf

You've heard that a golf-specific workout will help you get more distance, so you're pumping iron, jogging religiously, stretching - but you still haven't gained any distance off the tee. What's the deal? An exercise program will indeed help you gain distance, but you also need to have good swing technique to take advantage of your strength and flexibility.
...golf news

The Grain affects the roll! Grain is mostly seen on the fringe of the green. Putts with grain roll faster and farther, against the grain slower and not so far. Check from both sides of your ball as well as behind the ball when lining up. The appearance of the grass shows the grain. If it looks shiny the grain is away from you. If dull, the grain is towards you.
...World Golf

Headline News About Golf

Titleist Tour Report - Honda Classic

Thu, 09 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Watch this week's Titleist Tour Report direct from the Honda Classic featuring Davis Love III.

Improve Your Vision on the Golf Course with ''Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist''

Mon, 15 May 2006 00:00:00 GMT

Special Report: Equipment

Tue, 14 Mar 2006 00:00:00 GMT
The following Special Report on golf equipment was published in the March, 2006 issue of PGA Magazine. Learning how to play golf is not difficult and going through all the initial steps is actually fun and rewarding. Here are a few golfing tips that will help you start of on the right foot and turn into a real golfer:

Dont go for the shiniest, most expensive set of golf clubs. As a beginner you will miss a lot of the subtleties of professional golf equipment, so its not worth spending thousands of dollars on the latest technology and golf club models. Start with a cheaper set of clubs, maybe even a used one. A good golf set would have a putter, two woods and five irons. The irons are usually the odd numbers, such as 3, 5, 7 and 9 plus a wedge. If you want to experience different club types without actually purchasing them you can always rent a set from the golf course. As in most cases, beginners play their first golf rounds with a more experienced friend you can also borrow some clubs from them.

Getting golf lessons

Golf coaches are a better alternative than friends when it comes to teaching you how to properly play golf. However, if you are just starting golf for the fun of the game, a friend might be a good tutor initially. The only problem with friends teaching you how to golf is that they do not have the necessary skills to explain all the complexities of the movements, swings and strategies. A golf coach is experienced in getting you complicated terms in plain English. You can sign up for golf lessons at most golf courses, and this is a good investment if you have a competitive nature and a few friends that doubt your golfing skills. While costs can range from $20 to $50 per hour, you can also get a group booking that will save you some money.

Golf for fun

Once you have the basic notions about golf it is time to make the most out of this game: have fun! Ambition and determination are great when developing your golf skills, but do not let these reduce the enjoyment levels of the game.

www.usagolfnews.com

Quick Golf Ideas

Golf is played in many different types of weather. The type of weather affects how far the ball travels and its amount of spin. Knowing how the weather conditions affect your ball, therefore, is necessary to making correct club selections.
...The Golf Channel

Putting
Set up with the ball near your front foot, the club face square to the target line and your eyes over the ball. It is important to keep your hands level or ahead of the ball through the stroke.
...BBC golf

Learning how to aim is vital if your to have success in scoring. The clubface is the only thing that will make contact with the ball, therefore the clubface should be aimed towards the target with the shoulders paralleling the target line. Do not take the stance first. The feet do not hit the ball, so line up the clubface first, and then take your stance.
...Golf Week

To learn how variations of the grip affect ball flight. Experiment with slight variations of your grip. Observe how the changes affect the flight of the ball. A weak grip encourages a slice or fade. A strong grip encourages a hook or a draw. The V.s formed by the index finger and thumbs on both hands should point between the chin and right shoulder.
...PGA of America

Spray-On Sunscreen
We all hate getting our hands greased up before a round. The
Golf Swing Secret...get it today!

Tips For Sand Trap Play

By Lee MacRae

Sand play does not have to be life threatening! But that is how many golfers feel when they land a shot into a bunker or sand trap. Follow along as we explain some things you can do to improve in this area of your golf game

Many golfers are afraid they will take to much sand and not get the ball out of the bunker. You know you have to hit the sand about two inches behind your ball. So, look for anything as a target - a crease in the sand, a small lump, a dark grain of sand, a small pebble - anything to aim for. Concentrate on THAT spot. Forget all about the ball. Just concentrate on hitting your spot in the sand with the right amount of club and swing. The sand will pop the ball out of the bunker.

The longer bunker shot is one of the easiest shots to play and one of the most satisfying in the is entire game. Here are the six fundamentals of the bunker shot:

1. Choke down on the grip of the club to compensate for having to dig your feet into the sand to anchor your body.

2. Do not move the legs during a swing.

3. Take two or sometimes three extra clubs to make up for distance loss by the arms-and-hands-only swing. If you're within reach of the green, take as much club as you'll need for the ball to land near the hole. Because you're hitting down in to the back of the ball, the ball should have enough spin on it to stop quickly.

4. Play the ball in the middle of your stance so you can make contact before the bottom of your swing arc.

5. Always hit the ball first.

6. Don't ground your club. That's a two-stroke penalty.

Once you have a feel for the basics of playing from sand, you can easily understand some of the finer points of bunker play, and you will find it easy to adapt your technique to different types of sand challenges and lies. Make your golf game more enjoyable with good sand play.

About the author

Lee MacRae runs several online stores where you can find a great indoor putting green or a great golf putter today!

Some Golf Ideas
Use Your Body For Power
Every good golfer knows that power comes from the body, not the arms. To learn to power the club with your body instead of your arms and hands, put the club behind the ball at address, with your body in a dead-stop position. Without taking a backswing, try to drag the ball into the air. If you're a player who uses his or her hands to control the club, you'll probably struggle at first. However, you'll quickly find that once you start moving the club with your body, you'll begin to get the ball in the air more consistently. This helps you turn fully through the ball on the downswing.
...Golf Tips magazine

Long Arms
Soft arms are fast arms, and you don't want them moving independently of the body. Instead, the arms must be thrown out and extended by a proper pivot.
...Golf Tips magazine

Golf truly is a great equalizer because it doesn't discriminate. Finally, the wonderful saying "What the mind conceives, the body can achieve" really drives home this point that the only limits we have in our lives are in our "minds".
...PGA

This is a very common problem for golfers and it's an awkward adjustment. The solution is very simple, however. Instead of setting your driver behind the ball such that the center of the face is aligned with the ball, move backwards a couple of inches (towards your back) such that the toe of your driver is aligned with the ball. Now do the test again. Stretch out your arms and pick the club up to the ball's height. Is the ball aligned with the center of the driver face? If so, put the club back down and fire! If not, keep moving back until it is.
...PGA Tour

More Golf News
Titleist Tour Report: Accenture Match Play Championship

Fri, 24 Feb 2006 00:00:00 GMT
Watch this week's Titleist Tour Report from the Accenture Match Play Championship, featuring defending champion David Toms.

Scotty Cameron Putter Restoration and Custom Shop

Tue, 08 Nov 2005 00:00:00 GMT
Reprinted with permission of The SandTrap.com

weighted golf training club
http://www.golf-training-aid-online.com/Golf%20Putting%20Aids/Golf_Pin_Balls.html
Tags: custom golf clubs | ping golf clubs
